Areas of Practice

Peter I. Dunn is a Shareholder and Director of Craig and Macauley Professional Corporation.  He practices in the areas of corporate and securities law, restructurings and workouts.  His corporate and securities work includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private placements of debt and equity securities including angel, bridge and venture capital financings. He also counsels companies and individuals with routine business issues involving contracts, employment, compliance and governance.   His representation of creditors and debtors includes loan workouts and restructurings both inside and outside of bankruptcy.  Mr. Dunn is an active member of Craig and Macauley’s working group focusing on the sale and acquisition of distressed assets.  Mr. Dunn represents foreign and domestic public and private clients in a number of different industries, including life sciences, medical devices, green technology, and finance.  He also represents emerging companies in all phases of their start-up activities, from formation to raising capital and exits.

Mr. Dunn has written and presented on legal issues affecting the business community. His activities include the co-chairing of expert panels in recent Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education seminars on contract drafting and negotiations which were widely attended by members of the bar, and the publication in the Boston Business Journal of his article entitled Avoid Wage Act Land Mines. He is the author of a chapter on public sources of financing in the recent publication, Financing a Massachusetts Business, edited by John M. Hession.

Awards and Professional Activities

Mr. Dunn was named a Rising Star in the Rising Stars Edition of Law and Politics and Boston Magazine – a peer designated award given to no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state. He is a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Law committees of the Boston Bar Association and of the Business Law section of the Massachusetts Bar Association.  Mr. Dunn serves on the curriculum committee of the Business Law Section of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.  He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Summit Montessori School in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Mr. Dunn received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1994 (cum laude/ Phi Beta Kappa) and his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 1998 (magna cum laude), where he was a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team.
